Hello again!! This week we are working on more typing. This week our typing is being applied to real world situations. 7th grade students are working on their Nuclear Age research projects and preparing their information for a poster presentation. 8th grade students researched and learned about Veteran's Day. Both our 7th and 8th grade students are working on learning how to write thank you letters.

Quarter End
Last Friday, the 23rd, was the end of 1st quarter. I spent the weekend finishing grading your papers and entering your grades into the grade book. I am VERY happy with the grades you have earned in computers this quarter. You have all worked so hard and your typing skills are improving all of the time because of your efforts! Today we start Parent Teacher Conferences and I am excited to talk to your parents and tell them how wonderful you are all doing. My goal for next quarter for 7th grade is to continue improving our typing skills and start learning formatting in Microsoft Word. We will also start working on projects from other classes that require the use of computers. 8th grade, my goal for you is also to continue improving your typing skills. Many of you are great typist and I want you to focus on your accuracy while keeping your speed. We will also continue working with your other classes on projects that require technology. Let me know if you have any questions or comments!

October 5 - October 9
Can you believe we are over half way through with 1st quarter. With that being said, anyone who has missed a day of school and has not made up your missed work needs to come and talk to me. If you miss a day of school, you need to make sure you ask what was missed, and if you need to make it up or not. I have a list of missing assignments, so if you are not sure, come and ask. This week the 8th graders are starting to type numbers as well as working on an essay for Mrs. Rhoades. 7th graders, you are researching and writing about your favorite Civil War Days person. You will also continue on in Typing Time with more typing lessons. If you have any questions, comments, or ideas, let me know! Ms. Bushnell

Plan for the week and Progress Reports

Progress reports will be sent home on Friday. We have been working on getting all of our makeup work done, and finishing up lessons. Remember if you still have an assignment missing, get it in ASAP! This week we will continue learning new keys on the keyboard. In addition to keying lessons, the 7th graders will research and write a paragraph on their favorite movie star. The 8th graders are focusing on typing and doing 1-minute timed typing drills to test their speed. The year is going so fast and I can't believe we are halfway through 1st quarter.
